Hej,
I am Birgitte, the founder and editor of My World of Interiors, based in Copenhagen.
Although Danish by birth, I attended school in the United Kingdom and subsequently spent twelve years living in London before returning to Copenhagen. I have a degree in History of Art, Architecture and Design, with Ancient History as my supplementary subject.
My interests have never fitted particularly neatly into categories. Interiors, architecture, literature, philosophy, art, music, cinema and travel have always seemed to me to be different ways of exploring the same thing: how we live, what we value and how we understand the world around us.
My World of Interiors began rather simply. I had established an Instagram account of the same name and registered the corresponding domain. What started as a natural extension of the account gradually developed into something much broader: an independent publication devoted to the subjects that have always interested me.
Although interiors gave the publication its name, it has never been exclusively about decoration. I am as interested in the ideas behind a room as I am in the objects within it, and as curious about the social significance of art as its aesthetic qualities.
Above all, I believe culture should invite us to look more closely, think more deeply and occasionally reconsider what we thought we knew.
