My World of Interiors is an independent cultural journal devoted to the things we make, inhabit, read, watch, listen to and carry with us.
It began with interiors. Over time, however, the territory expanded. Architecture led naturally to art; art to literature and film; design to questions of history, politics and society; travel to ideas about place, belonging and the ways in which cultures represent themselves. What emerged was less a traditional interiors publication than an inquiry into aesthetics in its widest sense: how human beings give form and meaning to the world around them.
The journal is founded and edited by me, I have a background in history of art and ancient history that informs my approach. Here, aesthetics is not treated as decoration or luxury, but as a form of cultural evidence. A building can tell us something about power. A chair can contain an argument about modernity. A film may reveal the moral assumptions of the society that produced it. A novel can alter our understanding of consciousness; a song can preserve the emotional atmosphere of an era.
For that reason, the subjects gathered here are deliberately broad. My World of Interiors publishes essays and criticism on architecture, interiors and design alongside writing on art, literature, cinema, music, travel, history and philosophy. There are profiles of artists, architects, writers and filmmakers; reviews of books and films; studies of houses and objects; journeys through places and landscapes; and longer essays concerned with the relationship between culture and the historical moment in which it is made.
The governing principle is attention.
In a culture increasingly organised around speed, novelty and consumption, this journal makes a case for looking longer. It is interested in context rather than content for its own sake; in criticism rather than promotion; in history rather than trend; and in the distinction between acquiring things and actually developing taste. Beauty matters here, but beauty is rarely innocent. The interesting question is not simply whether something is beautiful, but why we find it beautiful, what produced it, what it signifies and what it asks us to notice.
There is also an argument here for continuity. Old buildings, old books, old clothes, neglected films, forgotten artists and inherited objects all resist the idea that culture must perpetually replace itself. The journal is interested in preservation, craftsmanship and longevity—not out of nostalgia, but because understanding what is worth keeping is one of the central questions of both culture and contemporary life.
The Week
Since August 2026, the journal has followed a regular editorial rhythm:

Sunday — Philosophy
The categories are not intended as boundaries. Quite the opposite. A piece about a house may become an essay about memory; a discussion of a filmmaker may lead to architecture, politics or psychoanalysis; a journey may become an investigation of history. Culture becomes interesting precisely where disciplines begin to overlap.
Alongside the daily journal, My World of Interiors continues to explore interiors, architecture, hotels, remarkable houses and places through its design and travel features, while Great Are the Myths, newsletters and other occasional projects allow for fiction, personal writing and longer experiments in form. The wider world of the publication continues through Instagram and film.
At its heart, however, My World of Interiors remains what it has always been: A place for curiosity without strict disciplinary borders; for serious writing without academic enclosure; and for the conviction that art, rooms, books, landscapes, music and ideas are not separate subjects at all, but different ways of asking the same question:
How should we live, and what is worth paying attention to while we are here?
