I began the year on an unusually peaceful note, and without any discernible New Year’s resolutions. For once, I didn’t feel the need to reinvent myself in any way. I was already on the right path: I gave up smoking in 2024, wrote a novel and lost weight in 2025 , and it felt wiser to simply continue in that direction rather than disrupt it with grand declarations -we all know what usually happens to those.
That said, 2026 has quietly expanded the curriculum. Exercise and wellness have been formally added, and my daily routine—which until January consisted of getting up, writing, walking, seeing friends and family, and trying to eat sensibly—has grown more ‘elaborate’. I’ve introduced red light therapy, along with light exercise on a vibration plate with weights. So far, so good. I already feel extremely smug about the whole thing, which I’m choosing to interpret as a sign of success, alas I also know these things are incredibly boring for anyone else to hear about, so I’ll leave it at that.
On a different note, myworldofinteriors is also evolving. We’ve just (as of today) added YouTube and TikTok to our repertoire, which means a greater emphasis on visual content across all platforms throughout the year. Luddite no more.
I’ve included links to both channels in this post, and I hope you’ll join us there.
Here’s to a calm, steady beginning and wishing you all a safe passage through the early part of the year.
