Matteo Brioni is an Italian interior designer, who works with earth as his primary material. He founded his design studio in 2010 building on the craftsmanship, and knowledge passed on to him through four generations of the Brioni family working with the organic materials found in and around their hometown of Gonzaga.
“I discovered, like many designers, earth, was not only a “sustainable” and “healthy” material, but also sensual and “naturally” beauty, pleasant to the touch and sinuously adaptable to any surface. The earth seemed to possess a sort of natural “equilibrium”: a very strong character combined with extreme docility. It may be mixed and applied with extreme agility and in a short time, satisfying even “temptations of self-construction”. Matteo Brioni
“The earth is part of everyone’s past. however, mine in particular. growing up in gonzaga, among the history, the fields and clay quarries can have a strong impact on your choices, especially if you spend your days around an 18th century industrial building that closely resembles a farm.” Matteo Brioni
Raw earth is a contemporary building material: beautiful, hypoallergenic, versatile. Matteo Brioni’s earth is the result of a meticulous pre-selection of clays and aggregates originating from various territories and blended together to obtain chromatic, tactile, and functional qualities that fit.

Matteo Brioni’s earth is selected and mixed by a process that requires experience in building and an eye for the uniqueness of each territory. Resulting in healthy products, pure and natural, pleasant to the touch, able to sinuously adapt to any shape: contemporary surfaces made with traditional techniques.
